Want to learn more about the law respecting family-building through assisted reproduction?

View the PPT from Michelle Kinney and Christine Murray, from their presentation at the University of Victoria Law School.

This presentation addresses the Canadian laws, the Assisted Human Reproduction Act and the regulations about surrogacy, sperm donation, and egg and embryo donation. Under the federal law, it is illegal to pay a surrogate or a donor but it is allowable to reimburse certain allowable expenses under the law.

The PowerPoint presentation also discusses the BC laws that sets out who is a parent when a child is conceived through assisted reproduction, as well as alternative families such as three parent families.
